The Financial Accountant

All things financial - Rachel loves to be given a challenge and following through to make a difference. Her strengths and passion are to work with finance teams to have their internal accounting systems reporting true business results. She loves training finance staff to fine tune their processes and simplify their role. This allows her to develop a good understanding of the business she works with and gives her the skill to develop accurate, consistent forecasts and budgets with management. 

Her career goal is to simplify the whole taxation process by working in businesses with their accounting packages so that year end tax work is what it should be - an adjustment of the clients software business result for tax purposes in accordance with the tax law. She wants to educate owners so that they have an understanding of both their business result and their tax result, as the two can be very different.

Growing up working in a family business Rachel learnt to work from the bottom up. She understands the different levels of a business and the hard work that goes into them. Her 12 years experience in both public practice and the private sector has helped her focus her skill set on what she believes can make a difference. Her values stem from her strong family business background and include honesty, attention to detail, loyalty and hard work.
